Many folks enjoy their “work”! Of course, that is a very good item of news to be aware of --- for if no one enjoyed their positions, I would imagine that we humanoids would not be near as advanced as we are today.

For what it is worth, I have a lot of enjoyment helping folks deal with everyday life in several areas. With the young adults, I attempt to aid them in seeking out their talents and abilities, and assist in defining which areas they believe would make them the happiest, and wish to pursue.

Once their decision/s have been made, its time to show them the steps needed to attain the goal/s, and how they could earn a good living with them. You should see their eyes light up, and their ambition soar once they realize that they can do it…it is like they are reborn into a whole new world of possibilities that they didn’t know existed. Some of them actually begin looking for jobs to help finance their new world of adventures.

And as I personally deal with everyday life with many quotations and principles, it is only natural that I wait for them to use the word “work” in their conversation with me. That is when they are presented with the question “What the heck is work?” They appear very perplexed when they look me in the eye and ask something to the effect “you know that work is, don’t you?” I reply that “Of course I do, but do you comprehend the difference between “work” and “play”? Very few of them are aware of the deviation between the two, and therefore, do not understand how to make “work” become “play.”

It is actually quite uncomplicated! As we are all wise to, the disparity between the two abides in the grey matter we refer to as our cerebellum, or brain.

When we work, we walk (and sometimes run, canter, dash, sprint), talk (and sometimes chew the fat, chitchat, parley, speak), use our muscles, learn and teach, hope (and sometimes pray), laugh (and sometimes cry), get excited (and sometimes depressed), drive to and from, tell jokes, yell (and sometimes yelled at, have confidence, or wonder what is going on, persuade and be persuaded, are sometimes happy and sometimes sad, mad and sometimes elated, and much more!

Not sure of anyone else, but to me, working has the same elements as when we are playing. What do you think?

Consequently, when your alarm startles you from a peaceful slumber, do not say to yourself something to the effect “Dang it, I have to go to work!” Quite to the contrary, sit up on the edge of your bed, take five minutes, and slowly take five deep breaths, and relate to your brain that you are going to have a wonderful day, and that whatever some blob of DNA (a human being) says or does negatively, it is not going to affect me.

And since our cerebellums are organic computers, delve deep inside of it, locate the word “work”, right click on it, and drag it over to the column titled “play”.

And as we “bags of mostly water” (humans again) are absolutely creatures of habit, practice the five minutes every morning, and before you know it, a new habit will emerge from within…and then your days will be well worth waking up for, be a lot more fulfilling, and as a plus, you may soon realize that you are a whole new individual looking forward to a whole new world.
