Not sure of anyone else, but this humanoid, through the years, has many times posed the query to myself “if we?” Of course, the word “if” never has a complete and solid answer – it doesn’t accomplish much, but it gives us something to do – yet, I’m fairly positive that we all use it several times a day. It’s not a bad word to use though, for it does aid us in planning for future events…if we didn’t plan, our future would be rather iffy! However; the word “if” also allows us to develop our imagination, which allows us to dream – we may even venture forth into the misty clouds of forever! Personally, my happy self loves to use the imagination, and just see where it takes me.
-If we were a lawyer, would we truly seek justice, or just go for the money?
-If we were a politician, would we ask what is right for every American citizen, or just be a puppet to big business?
-If we were a police officer, would we truly serve the public, or see how many tickets we could hand out?
-If we were a dreamer, what would we dream of? New inventions? A better life?
-If we were an eagle, where would we soar on the wind?
-If we were an explorer, where would we explore?
-If we were a spaceman (or woman-political correctness), would we travel to other planets and nebulas?
-If we were a parent, would we be a good one, and read to them everyday?
-If we want a better life, how would we attain it – through learning?
-If we want good friends, are we a good friend?
-If we want more peace in our lives, are we peaceful?
-If we want more adventures, where would we venture forth?
-If we want more love in our life, do we show love?
-If we want a better career, do we plan for it?
-If we want a simple life, do we keep our life simple?
-If we wish to be better at sports, do we practice?
-If we seek good conversation, do we increase our vocabulary and read good books?
-If someone “puts us down.” Do we listen to them, or just consider their ignorance?
-If someone offers us drugs, do we realize we are better than that?
-If we wish to be better parents, do we help our children to discover their talents and abilities?
-If we seek a good mate, are we a good one?
-If we seek what is important in our lives, do we look within ourselves?
-If someone pushes us, do we just divert it?
-If we wish to hear, do we listen?
-If we wish to look at someone, do we see?
-If we wish to enjoy good food, do we savor it?
-If we wish to follow our dreams, do we take the steps to follow them?
-If we wish to dance among the stars, do we use our imagination?
-If life serves us a bad dish, do we have to eat it?
-If we forgive others, will we forgive ourselves?
-If we listen to the ocean roar, will we hear antiquity?
-If we listen to our heart, will we understand our children’s?
-If we listened intently, could we hear a cloud float by?
-If we are dead, does our soul still dream?
-If we treat all work as play, will we lessen our stress?
-If we learn more, are we more interesting?
-If we are aware of the wind, do we smell its fragrance?
Personally, if we had the power, knowledge, and wisdom, I believe most of us would change the world for the good of all mankind…for if we delve deep within our seemingly magical minds, we well all have to admit that, contained in all of us, is the knowledge, the power, and the wisdom to accomplish our goals --- and that’s not a iffy thing! Imagine what you can do next!
